The passage of time and the power of the sun are the two major inevitable factors in thecreation of brown spots.

Broad band light (or IPL) for brown spots (photofacial)

The technology we use for brown spots is called BBL (broad band light).   It is a 'better' version ofIPL treatment a more common modality called IPL (intense pulse light).  The laser we use is made by Sciton.  We never take shortcuts when it comes to our patients' safety and results.

The results you can expect from our machine and our technicians are superior to others.  Our laser is a medical grade laser, only sold to physicians and yields fantastic results.  Many patients who have had treatements elsewhere are amazed at the speed and minimal discomfort from their treatments.

The treatments can be as few as one but can be as many as 5 or 6.   This depends on the darkness of the spot, the natural color of your skin, and your skin's sensitivity.  Your safety is our number priority.  Treatments are typically 3-4 weeks apart.  The dark spots typically get more dark before they flake off or are absorbed.

The treatments are typically:

  • short (5-25 minutes depending on the amount of areas)
  • with minimal discomfort
  • essentially no downtime
  • can be done during your 'lunch break'
  • safe when performed by a licensed well trained technician under the supervision of a physcian

After your successful treatment these spots can return if you do not properly use sunscreen.
