Laser skin resurfacing
Dr. Blyer is world renowned for his work with laser resurfacing. He has written numerous articles and given lectures on the topic of accelerating healing following laser resurfacing using platelet rich plasma (PRP). He currently has two research projects funded for the advancement of laser skin resurfacing and skin burns.
Treating the SKIN

There is no compromise for beautiful skin. Today it is most important factor in having a youthful face. Sun damage, brown spots, broken capillaries, wrinkles, smoker's lines around the mouth are all skin maladies that can be addressed via laser or chemical peel.
A common situation is when a patient with loose, wrinkled skin requests a facelift. If a faceilft is performed, the patient will have tighter wrinkled skin. Treating the skin with a laser or deep chemical peel will yield a tighter more youthful look. If the quality of the skin is not improved, the results any procedure will be lacking. Treating the skin can be performed in place of surgery, or in addition to surgery.

Laser resurfacing
Laser resurfacing can improve minor facial flaws, such as:
- Fine lines or wrinkles around or under your eyes, forehead or 'smoker's lines' around the mouth
- Scars from acne or chickenpox
- Aged or sun-damaged skin or liver spots
- Improve your complexion if you have yellowish or grayish skin tones
- Birthmarks, warts or enlarged oil glands on the nose
Laser technology is a constantly evolving science. Depending on your cosmetic concerns and time for recovery, your laser treatment can be tailored to your desire. The results we see after laser resurfacing are typically nothing short of spectacular. The laser which we typically use is the Sciton Joule. It is an Erbium-Yag laser which is very versatile and its margin of safety is great.
Historically, extended periods of redness (erythema) is what often scared a patient away from going foward with this procedure. Dr. Blyer has pioneered a new technique to speed up the healing process and eliminate the pain associated with this procedure. His research with this technique was presented at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery International Scientific Symposium, January 2013. Using PRP (platelet rich plasma) as an adjunct with the treatment accelerates the healing time and can reduce that time of erythema by 75%. Pain intesity which historically been described on a scale of 1-10, as a 7 with Dr. Blyer's technique it is a 0.
Laser micropeel

For those who want to reduce fine lines, even out skin texture, remove minor pigment changes, improve the shine of their skin and wear less make-up the laser micropeel has become extremely popular. The downtime can be as short as a few days and the only anesthesia needed is topical numbing cream. Patients are often pleased with one treatment, but some may require multiple treatments to achieve their desired goals. Please see our video section for a live microlaser peel.
Chemical Peel
There are many different peels, each with a different depth of penetration. Chemical peels can reduce wrinkles, and improve skin texture, color, and tone. Our esthetician offers many superfical peels (please see our noninvasive services), and Dr. Blyer administers our more medical grade peels with tremendous satifaction. These include Jessner's Peel, 20% or 35% TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid Peels). These peels can refresh the skin, remove sun damage and age spots, and create a healthy glow.
