The upper face
The enemies of the face, specifically from the eyelids to the hairline are time, age and gravity.
As these factors take hold, the area begins to descend and wrinkles develop both horizontally and vertically, yielding a tired or even angry looking appearance.
1. Endoscopic Brow Lift
An endoscopic browlift is a minimally invasive technique made through several small incisions hidden in the hairline (see yellow lines). The muscles responsible for the wrinkles are brought back to their original position creating a natural, refreshed look. The procedure allows for a quick and easy recovery time, without compromising the end result.
2. Trichophytic Brow Lift
This procedure repositions the brow under direct vision. Depending on the need to alter a patient's hairline or amount of forehead show, the incision can be made within the hairline or in front of the hairline. Dr. Blyer does a variation on the old fashioned technique which results in a scar that is essentially imperceivable. Hair will grow through the scar, to make the scar essentially invisible.
This procedure when performed is usually done at the time of upper eyelid surgery. It repositions the brow through an incision made in the eyelid crease, already made for the upper blepharoplasty.
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)
"The eyes are the window of the soul”...unknown author
What good is a beautiful window with a breathtaking view, if the blinds are half closed?
It is the skin, muscle, and fat around the eyes that are constantly moved when expressions are changed. Over time, it is aging that can cause some of these expressions, specifically fatigue, to appear permanent. An eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, is designed to restore a more youthful appearance to your eyes. It may involve the upper lids, the lower lids, one or both. Patients typically return to work in seven to ten days.
The incision for an upper blepharoplasty is placed in the natural crease of the eye. This allows for an inconspicious scar.
The lower lid blepharoplasty can be made:
- under the lash lines of the lower lids ('a' in photo)
- inside the eyelid (scarless healing) ('b' in photo
- no incision and the skin is treated with our laser
